Well, I've emailed USA Cycling to get clarification and they haven't responded yet. I kind of anticipated this and managed to get the flyer approved without putting any USCF categories on it. So depending on their response, I think technically I can run the Men C, Women B and Singlespeed as Citizen categories with no license requirement. Everyone else will probably need at least a One Day, I'm hoping USA Cycling rules it's a mountain bike One Day for $5, rather than the road One Day for $10. I don't think this issue has come up for them yet, so I'm hoping to set $5/day precedent. Anyone that's been racing the Crit Series A or B Flite should already have a license. I probably won't be able to carry the cost of licenses for each rider, as I'm already picking up the online reg fees and the Clam Bake. Having said that, the more people that pre register, the more I'll be able to dial in the seafood order and will be able to come back to the idea of covering license fees in some form. I don't think I can technically cover the license fee, but I can possibly reduce the reg fee so that no one is out of pocket more than $25. Look for an update as soon as I hear back from USA Cycling; in the meantime pre register and then as a community we can all talk.
