    Mt Ogden Road Race

I found this web page for the race:

    http://web.mac.com/kentlgreen/Site_9/Mt_Ogden_race.html

Could someone update the link on the calendar here?

    Thanks,
    James

The pro race is just plain sick and wrong.......We could always finish at Powder Mtn just to stay with the theme......

Sounds very epic and the strongest man will surely win!

thanks for putting on a great race guys and gals!!!!!!!

    Re: Mt Ogden Road Race

At this point, is it possible to alter the route?  I really don't like the idea of climbing up the old snow basin road with the 4s, while the 1/2/s and 3s are coming down.  When I do this road by myself, I usually take the whole road on the way down.  I don't think it will be safe.  I would suggest altering the course to turn left on Trappers loop, right on the new snow basin road, and then down the old snow basin road.  The distance should be about the same, and it will be much safer.
    Thanks,
    James

Mt.Ogden v. Tour de Park City

I'm kind of curious of what people are thinking of doing :Ogden v. PC?  I'm not interested in a discussion of why we have two races on the same date, but rather if you are racing, which one?

Personally, I'm leaning towards PC, but certainly don't want to do it with 6 guys. Actually, I don't want to do either race with only 6 guys, but the prize $ and proximity to my house (1 mile) at Tour de PC is too tempting for this guy.  Both are USAC sanctioned events, of which the UCA is the LA, so I think it should be fine to discuss in this forum.

Re: Mt.Ogden v. Tour de Park City

I live about 1 mile from the start of the Mt Ogden road race.  I don't even want to think about racing 170 miles, so I will be doing the Mt Ogden road race.  It's not like I'm going to be in the prize money anyway.

    Re: Mt Ogden Road Race

I would agree.  In addition, with the current route racers will be making a left hand turn on to old snow basin road to start the climb, while categories that started earlier will be descending and making a left hand turn off of old snow basin road.  That means racers will be crossing paths at that intersection...um not good!  It would make more sense to start around Pineview on the west side and finish on the east side that way we can make a right hand turn up old snow basin road, and then another right hand turn at the end of the descent and there will be no overlapping between categories.

    Re: Mt Ogden Road Race

    I'm doing TdPC.

A little closer to home, a perfect pre-LOTOJA 'training' race and the swag/purse seems better.

I'm not looking for race wins, just specific training needs and I think TdPC works better for me.

I am going to "rock, paper, scissors" against myself to decide or use my magic 8 ball.

It looks like the Mt Ogden Road Race has been cancelled.

You'd think not having cops on hand would not prevent a race from happening.  Oh well, maybe they can get thier act together for next year...
